In a Tweet on their @WestLawSchool account, WestLaw has announced that law students have donated over 3.5 million WestLaw rewards points to aid the relief effort in Japan.
No, the Japanese won't be getting Starbuck's cards and iPods. The WestLaw points are converted to cash, at a rate of $5 for every 250 points donated. Donations will help fund the American Red Cross's efforts in Japan.
Those 3.5 million points translate to $70,000 in donations. Not a bad showing of altruism from the so-called cry-baby entitled wimps of Generation Whine.
WestLaw will continue accepting donations through April 15th. You can donate your points here.
Lexis has a similar campaign, but we do not yet know the amount they have raised.
